Working Purposefully and Collaboratively to Reduce Recidivism: Best Practice Learnings from Norway

Industry:

Synopsis

The aim of my Fellowship was to learn best practice from successful rehabilitation-focused courts, prisons, and support services in Norway. I have worked in the criminal justice system, and respectfully advocated for human rights for many years.

I wished to build on my prior research with respect to the use of technology in courts and prisons as a key driver of innovation, and focus on how therapeutic jurisprudence principles can be implemented in Australian courts and prisons.

The Fellowship enabled me to increase my knowledge of international best practice, and make recommendations for Australia. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to engage in purposeful, collaborative work to reduce recidivism.
