About the event

Join us at the VDC for a unique opportunity to support and empower teachers in vocational education & training. This event will feature special incoming guest Dr. Kimberley Grant from Canada, an experienced Educational Development Consultant at the Taylor Institute for Teaching and Learning at the University of Calgary. Kimberley will be sharing her valuable insights and knowledge on effective teaching practices.

This event will take place both in-person at the VDC and also to stream via zoom.

Kim’s decades of experience in secondary and postsecondary education inform her leadership of the Academic Staff Certificate in University Teaching and Learning, one of the most popular programs at the Taylor Institute, supporting the development of research-informed and scholarly teaching expertise. In addition to this work, she is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Werklund School of Education where she teaches in the undergraduate teacher education program. She is respected for her thoughtful approach to partnering with students, her dedication to teaching and learning, and her focus on empowering educators through their own development.

Also presenting is Kay Schlesinger, an International Specialised Skills Institute alumni who recently completed her Fellowship report on improved and innovative ways to support new educators as they enter Vocational and Higher Education.

With a focus on practical strategies and best practices, attendees will leave with valuable tools to support their students and enhance their own professional development.
