Synopsis

Learning is possible when physical, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing is supported. Mental health considerations embedded in adult education delivery will benefit learners on their pathway from education into employment. Additionally, education and employment are tools for recovery when delivered with a strong framework to support people living with a mental illness. The Clubhouse International model is a recognised worldwide program that provides a person-centered and rightsbased approach for learners living with a mental illness transitioning into work. This research identifies best practice for education delivery and provides fifteen recommendations for Learn Local organisations.
