Synopsis

The aim of this Fellow is to discuss what do we mean when we say, disadvantaged and vulnerable learners and how best to bridge the educational gap for these learners to connect with education so they engage and develop positive outcomes. This research is to identify these learners and develop strategies as to how to improve positive VET educational outcomes. Whilst there are learners who do well within the educational system, there are many learners who face challenges and have complex needs, including a negative experience of the schooling system, mental health issues, family violence, homelessness, parental/career neglect, intellectual disabilities and alcohol and drug issues and therefore are excluded from social/economic and educational opportunities.
