Synopsis

Karly Bartrim (Dietitian and PhD Candidate) shares her learnings about the Canadian long term care dietitian workforce. Travelling around the Provinces of British Columbia and Ontario, Karly saw the important role dietitians play in long term care settings and how legislation, policy and advocacy support dietitians in their role. The report concludes with recommendations for individual dietitians, the dietetic aged care profession, residential aged care facilities, and all levels of government. Change is required to ensure all older adults have access to quality food and nutrition to live and age well.
