Synopsis

This report investigates the ways in which museums and art galleries are creating more engaging, participatory, and accessible experiences for their visitors through changes in exhibition design practices. With a focus on the use of digital technologies as a method of enhancing the exhibition experience, the Fellow conducted research by visiting several institutions in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, and the UAE, to provide a broad overview of current trends and issues emerging in international exhibition design.
The learnings of this report include different elements that can be considered in exhibition design, the creation of digital and analogue interactives, and methods of providing accessible resources and support for visitors.
