Synopsis

This Fellowship explores international intervention approaches that disrupt the trajectory of young people currently involved, or at risk of becoming involved, in the Justice system. Common intervention strategies that provide the greatest impact to young people are identified and viewed through the lens of education. With high impact innovative strategies incorporated into education programs, young people facing a youth justice trajectory will benefit from greater access and equitable education opportunities. Retention in education enhances both participants’ life and job skills, while targeted intervention strategies mitigate against the most common factors facilitating a youth justice trajectory.
