Synopsis

Through this Fellowship I explored how the arts can drive action on biodiversity and climate together. Australia faces devastating rates of species loss and deforestation, yet funding for nature remains scarce. By visiting rewilding projects in the UK and Netherlands and meeting with conservation and arts leaders, I learned how innovative models—like biodiversity credits, community partnerships, and creative advocacy—can fund large-scale nature protection and restoration. My research showed that cultural change is essential: people must connect emotionally with nature to act. This Fellowship has deepened my expertise and will directly shape my work at FEAT to help drive solutions on the ground.
