Synopsis

Despite rising consumer demands for sustainability, Australia's adoption of sustainable practices remains sluggish, particularly within the Telecommunication and Data Centre sector. This research identifies gaps in Australian practices and explores power-saving strategies from the United States. The study emphasises practical steps the sector can undertake, from LED lighting upgrades to utilising Hydrogen fuel cells, and the need for continuous innovation and policy support. By sharing knowledge and adopting these practices, Telecommunication Exchanges and Data Centres can significantly reduce their environmental impact and enhance sustainability to help Australia achieve net zero.
