Synopsis

Keir works in Australia’s heritage conservation sector as a metal objects conservator, with a background in metal sculpture manufacturing. After transitioning into sculpture conservation and the repair of metal heritage items, he identified a gap in technical skills for repairing heritage sculpture and metalwork in Australia. The purpose of this Fellowship is to learn advanced techniques in aesthetic and structural sculpture repair from international experts, including Rupert Harris, a leading authority on the repair of lead sculpture, and Geoffrey and Jon Wallis, specialists in the repair of cast iron and other metalworks.
